About IASIMUN 2011

“IASIMUN is the Model United Nations (MUN) conference of Iaşi, Romania. Our mission is to give high school youths in Romania an opportunity to meet each other, discuss world problems, build awareness, and inspire each other to work for a better tomorrow. The conference is also opento students outside Romania, giving everyone a chance to interract in a multicultural environment – a fertile ground for brilliant ideas. The conference is a three-day event that will take place from November 18th-20th, 2011 at the “Emil Racoviţă” National College in Iasi. IASIMUN is a youth conference conceived and organized by students, for students. This means that the responsibilities and rewards of taking part in IASIMUN belong to the youth participants.

We invite all high school students interested in global issues, problem solving, and debate (in English) to apply to IASIMUN. If your application is accepted, our team will assist you in training for the conference. The student Secretary General, Deputy Secretary General, the Chairpersons, and MUN advisor will offer you resources and guidance. Training sessions will be available for students in Iasi, while a book of guidelines is available on the site in the Resources section. All questions sent through email will also be promptly answered. Our goal is to prepare each student as much as possible so that everyone can successfully contribute to a lively and productive discussion.
